final assessment

For my final assessment piece i decided i was going to edit the footage for my documentary production. The production is a documentary looking at the prices and standard of student acommodation. I have done a rough edit of the film as we are still awaiting a vital interview with a major halls of residence company.

week 6

In week 6 we were given new footage for the mark in time film. we were told the we needed to do a paper edit on the footage, with this paper edit we were told we needed to show what changes we would make to the footage and why. I felt the footage was to long and needed cutting shorter in order to keep the footage entertaining.

week5 Jigsaw session

In this session we were put into groups to discuss the information we had gathered on the film theorists we had been given to research, i had been given Eisenstein and we discovered his theorys on film montage, i found this excercise helpful, as it helped develop ideas for projects in the future. it also gives an insight into were the process of editing developed from and how it has changed and evolved further.

week 4 assessment

In this session we were assessed on excercise 1, i felt my feedback was strong and was happy with my final piece, there were changes i would have made to the film. I really enjoyed this excercise and feel it is a good tool to use to develop skills in post production.

week 3

In week 3 we were given a handout of work on film theorists to learn for a jigsaw session in week 5, in the session we continued to edit the night journey footage for the assessment in week 4.

week 2

in week 2 we continued with editing the footage we were given from the script of night journey. I found the feedback i received from steve helpful, and will look at making a few changes in the running order of the film.

Post Production

This is my blog for the post production module. In the first week of the module we were introduced to the footage and script of the film Journey through the Night. With the rushes we were then told to edit them using our own interpretations of the script.
